How To Stop Facebook From Sending Notifications To Your Email Address (inbox)

I discovered that my inbox was getting bombarded with Facebook messages. Imagine having about 1000 messages in your inbox and not being able to read them.
When offline, anything that goes on between you and your friends on facebook is automatically posted to your inbox so that you wont be left out.
If you noticed, your inbox is filled with a lot of unread message which you haven't attend to.
I then sought for a way of putting this message sending to a stop though it was very helpful to me.

Follow This Steps Carefully To Stop Facebook From Sending Notifications To Your Inbox: Use Any Of The Below Options To Do This (Either 1 or 2)
 ON PC: (1)

• On the top right corner of your home screen Click "Account"
• Go to settings > Account Settings
• Now unmark the Notifications you don't want to be receiving (unmark all if you don't want to receive any)
• Click Save Changes

ON FACEBOOK MOBILE: (2)
On the bottom of your homepage

• Click Settings  > Email
• Unmark the notifications you don't want to receive (unmark all if you don't want to receive any)

If you have any application attached to your facebook account Click "other options" to set the kind of notification you want to receive via email.

• Click Save when you're done.
